What is the difference between a manufacturer’s warranty and Ultimate Electronics Protection?
Most manufacturers’ warranties only cover one specific item for a pre-determined amount of time and are usually restricted to defects in materials or workmanship ONLY. Most don’t cover power surges, normal wear and tear, or Accidental Damage from Handling (ADH) such as spills, drops, or cracked screens for select portable devices. In most cases, you cannot get your device repaired without the original purchase receipt and/or registration of the product at the time of purchase. With our Ultimate Electronics Protection Plan you will have coverage for an unlimited number of new and used computer and home entertainment products for one low monthly cost. There is no limit to how long you can keep your coverage. You can cancel anytime (coverage will remain in effect 30 days after cancellation) without a cancellation fee. No proof of purchase is required, nor do you need to register the products for them to be eligible.
Doesn’t my homeowner's or renter's insurance cover my electronics?
In most cases, homeowner's and renter's insurance will cover a loss due to theft, fire, wind or storm damage and may require you to pay a deductible of a few hundred dollars before you would receive reimbursement for the cost to replace or repair your electronic products. Ultimate Electronics Protection is a whole-home Protection Plan for your computer and home entertainment products that goes above and beyond individual service plans and manufacturer’s warranties. The Ultimate Electronics Protection Plan covers an unlimited number of devices from mechanical or electrical failures, normal wear and tear failures, power surge, and manufacturer defects in materials or workmanship. Accidental Damage from Handling (ADH) provides coverage from failures due to drops, spills and cracked screens on select portable electronic devices such as tablets, laptops, and hand-held gaming devices. The Ultimate Electronics Protection Plan also has a low service fee of $55 on select items in the event you need to file a claim.
What is NOT covered by Ultimate Electronics Protection?
Ultimate Electronics Protection does NOT cover landline or smart phones, pre-existing conditions, rented or leased devices, items in storage, theft or loss, manufacturer recalls, maintenance or cleaning, products without serial numbers, insect or animal damage, or cosmetic defects. Software repair, damage, loss or virus is not covered. There are additional exclusions, we recommend that you read and become familiar with the Terms and Conditions.
How much does Ultimate Electronics Protection cost and what are my payment options?
Ultimate Electronics Protection costs $24.99/month plus tax. You can pay with a debit or credit card on automatic monthly billing.
Do I have to sign a 1 or 2 year contract?
No long-term contract is required. Coverage is on a month-to-month basis that can be cancelled at any time without a fee for cancellation.
Once I have purchased Ultimate Electronics Protection, when does coverage begin?
Coverage will commence 31 days after your subscription to the Plan. No service will be provided during the initial 30 days of the Plan. If the Plan is cancelled, coverage will continue for 30 days after the cancellation date.
Is there a time limit to how long I can cover certain products?
No. There is no restriction on how long you have coverage for your products, provided you continue your monthly payments and you have not reached your annual aggregate claim limit of $5,000.00, your products are covered.
Do I need to register all of my devices and keep receipts for proof of purchase?
No. There is no need to keep receipts or register your products. As long as each product has a legible serial number, they’re covered.
When something experiences a covered breakdown, how do I file a claim?
When a covered product experiences a breakdown, simply call our toll-free number and a Customer Care Agent will determine the best way to have your item repaired. For larger products such as TVs, an in-home appointment is usually best. For smaller products, you may be able to drop it off at a local authorized repair facility or we will send you a pre-paid shipping label to mail it to an authorized out-of-town repair facility.
Do I need to fill out any documentation in order to file a claim?
In some cases, you may be required to fill out a claim form and/or provide a photocopy of a state-issued ID.
