What is a home warranty?
A home warranty typically helps cover the cost of repairs or replacement for home systems and appliances.
I have homeowners insurance. Why do I need a home warranty?
Home insurance usually applies when a natural disaster strikes your house and only covers for events that are out of your control like freezes, tornadoes, hurricanes, fires, floods, and theft. A home warranty is involved when something mechanical fails within your home, such as an appliance or home system due to normal wear and tear.
My mechanical systems and appliances are aged. Is this covered?
Yes. The age of your mechanical systems and appliances does not matter. We have a 30-day wait period in place to help keep your plan costs down, and protect us from pre-existing conditions.
Do I need a home inspection before ordering a home warranty?
We do not perform an inspection to determine the condition of your appliances and systems. We have a 30-day wait period in place to protect us from pre-existing conditions, as well as keep our plan costs at affordable prices.
When does coverage begin and when does it end?
There is a 30 day wait period before coverage begins. Coverage begins after 30 days from the purchase date. You may cancel at any time subject to our Cancellation Terms.
Your plan will automatically renew for consecutive 12-month periods at the then current rates. You may cancel auto renewal by calling (888) 508-8886 and a customer representative will assist you.
You may also cancel your contract effective immediately. If you cancel, we’ll refund unearned/used contract fees minus any service and claims costs incurred by ARW Home. If you received service under your contract in excess of fees paid, you may be responsible for the remainder of your contract payments. Please review your contract for the cancellation terms applicable to your plan. To cancel your contract, please call (888) 508-8886.
If an item needs to be replaced, and the replacement unit is unavailable, what happens?
If a covered appliance or system on your home warranty policy cannot be replaced, we will provide an allowance towards replacing the item in accordance with our terms & conditions. Our customers also have the added benefit of purchasing discounted appliances through our partnerships with appliance manufacturers.
What if I need service?
ARW will dispatch a service professional as quickly as possible to your home and will make all reasonable efforts to initiate service for non-emergencies in no more than 48 hours after the request is processed. For an emergency issue, we will make all reasonable effort to initiate service within 24 hours after the request for service is received.
Is there a trade service fee?
When you request a repair you pay a trade service fee. The fee is the deductible for that service call.
