    Frequently Asked Questions

    What is a home warranty?

A home warranty is a service contract designed to help protect you against the cost of unexpected repairs of your covered appliances and major home systems that break down due to normal wear and tear.

What’s the difference between a home warranty and homeowners insurance?

A home warranty helps protect you when covered components of your home systems and appliances break down due to normal wear and tear. Home insurance usually applies when a natural disaster strikes and only covers events out of your control such as freezes, tornadoes, hurricanes, fires, floods, and theft.

How do I request service or file a claim?

Requesting service and filing a claim is easy. Just use our online claim form, or call (888) 508-8886 to get started.

    Coverage & Plans

    What does each plan cover?

No matter what kind of coverage you’re looking for, ARW Home has a plan for you. Our Appliance Max plan covers kitchen and laundry appliances, while Systems Max covers your home’s major systems, including heating and cooling, indoor plumbing, and indoor electrical. Total Max, our most comprehensive and best-value plan, combines the coverage of our Appliance and Systems Max plans for total protection throughout your home. Please see our Plans page for complete coverage details.

Are there coverage limits or service fees?

Each time you make a service request for a covered item, you’ll pay a simple service fee. Please review our Declarations and Terms & Conditions pages for specific coverage details, limitations, and exclusions.

    Do you have add-on coverage?

Yes! In addition to our Total Max, Appliance Max, and Systems Max plans, we offer a number of optional plans to give you added peace of mind. These include coverage for your water and sewer lines, household electronics, and pool. Please see our Plans page for complete details.

What happens if my item needs replacement and coverage isn’t available?

If a covered appliance or system can’t be replaced, we will provide an allowance toward replacing the item in accordance with our Terms & Conditions. Our customers also have the added benefit of purchasing discounted appliances through our partnerships with appliance manufacturers.

    Claims & Service

How long does it usually take to get service?

Once we receive your request, we’ll dispatch a licensed technician to your home within 24-48 business hours. In emergency situations, we’ll make every effort to initiate service even more quickly.

Can I use my own service provider?

Yes, you can choose your own technician—but please reach out to us for authorization first. We want you to receive the highest level of service and make sure you and your family are safe. In our experience, you can usually save the most money and get the best work using our network of licensed, pre-screened technicians. Keep in mind all work comes with a 30-day workmanship guarantee. That means if you have an issue regarding your completed repair or replacement within 30 days of completion, we'll send a technician back out for free.

    Is there a service fee?

When you request a repair you pay a trade service fee. The fee is the deductible for that service call.

    Member Services

How do I renew or cancel my home warranty policy?

If you’ve set up automatic payments, ARW Home will send your coming year's agreement at least 30 days before your current plan agreement expires. If you don’t have automatic payments set up, please call (888) 508-8886 to continue your coverage.

You can cancel your policy at any time. If your cancellation occurs within the first 30 days of your coverage, we’ll refund your contract fees minus the cost of claims paid. If you cancel after 30 days, you’ll receive a prorated refund of your contract fees for the rest of the contract term minus the cost of claims paid.

To cancel your policy, please call (888) 508-8886.

What if I move or sell my home?

If you move or sell your home before the end of your plan agreement, you can transfer the remainder of your plan agreement term to your new home or the new buyer of your current home. Just call (888) 508-8886 to speak with an ARW Home agent and discuss your options.

How do I make changes to my current policy?

If you need to change your plan for any reason, you can do so within the first 30 days of purchasing your coverage. To make a switch call (888) 508-8886.

    General Help

When does a home warranty start and how long does it last?

Whether you choose a monthly or annual plan, you can begin requesting service 30 days after you sign up. All ARW Home plans come with a 30-day money-back guarantee, and you can cancel at any time subject to our Cancellation Terms.

Your plan will automatically renew for consecutive 12-month periods at the then current rates. You may cancel auto-renewal at any time by calling (888) 508-8886, and a customer representative will assist you.

You may also cancel your contract effective immediately. If you cancel, we'll refund unearned/used contract fees minus any service and claims costs incurred by ARW Home. If you received service under your contract in excess of fees paid, you may be responsible for the remainder of your contract payments. Please review your contract for the cancellation terms applicable to your plan. To cancel your contract, please call (888) 508-8886.

Most of my appliances are really old. Are they still covered?

The age of your home’s systems and appliances doesn’t matter. However old they may be, they’re still protected. Please note that we have a 30-day wait period in place to help keep plan costs down and protect us from pre-existing conditions.

Do I need a home inspection before getting a home warranty?

We do not perform an inspection to determine the condition of your appliances and systems. We do have a 30-day wait period in place to protect us from pre-existing conditions and keep our plan costs affordable.
